I spent a LOT of time tweaking .htaccess to try to get SSL and WP multisite working on the new server. I would add something, nothing would change. I would delete something, nothing would change.

It was only AFTER I got things limping along that a tripped over this little fact: Bitnami has an htaccess.conf file under wordpress/conf that effectively overrides all the local .htaccess files. So those changes I was making? ignored.

I don’t disagree with their reasoning. BUT IT NEEDS TO BE CAPITALIZED IN BOLD AND LOTS OF EXCLAMATION POINTS!!!!! You know, in your face visible?
